What are Digital Humanities?
Digital Humanities is a field that has recently gained more attention. If we consider that the world has developed into a digital era where various information is primarily stored and processed on computers, and every field benefits from computer technology, it is not surprising that humanities have transformed into digital humanities. But if we think about which other disciplines have extended their names with ‘digital’ like this. When searching through Google, we might find terms like Digital Social Science, Digital Physics, Digital Mathematics, Digital Biology, Digital Education, etc. However, these terms are not as commonly found as Digital Humanities and do not have direct entries in Wikipedia. Only Digital Physics has an entry in Wikipedia, but it does not mean the use of computer technology in studying physics; instead, it is a concept that views the universe as the output of computer programming. Thus, using the term Digital Humanities to denote this change is different from other sciences, which not only mean using computer technology but also emphasize the importance of using computer technology that leads to new study methods and approaches that expand and differ from traditional humanities studies.
